Support the

TRR Charities

Beginning in 2004, The TRR Committee decided that we could afford to "pay it forward" and make a small but meaningful contribution to charities that help those who may be less fortunate.  In 2003, we made two $500 contributions, one to the Lowell House of Hope, and another to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and since then we have kept up the tradition with similar contributions to the American Red Cross for Katrina hurricane relief as well as local charities in the Lowell area.

This year, we are formalizing the process so that competitors can help the cause.  When you checkout at Regatta Central, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the TRR Charities for 2007.  This year's charitable recipients are the Lowell House of Hope and the national charity American Stroke Association.  Yes, the pun is intended - but the cause is also extremely worthy.

We are suggesting donations of $5 for 1x, $10 for 2x/2-, $15 for 4x/4+, $20 for 8+.

House of Hope, Inc. has provided emergency shelter and services to hundreds of homeless families in Lowell.  Since 1985 we've known heartache and joy as our families struggled to improve their lives and their circumstances.  Today, we are home to eighteen families in our Shelter.  Our newly-opened New Hope Apartments houses ten of our most vulnerable families - usually single mothers below poverty-level income, with either a substance abuse or mental health challenge.  We build courage, strength, and independence in our residents as they grapple with complicated socio-economic and health issues while providing loving care for their children.  For more information, visit their web site at: http://www.hopelowell.org/

2010 Goal
The American Stroke Association’s goal is to reduce stroke and risk by 25 percent by 2010

Vision Statement
We envision a world where stroke is minimized and ultimately eliminated as a major health problem.  We look forward to a world where risk factors are reduced and rapid treatment is obtained.  We strive to change the landscape of healthcare delivery so that optimal care and maximum recovery are achieved for those who do suffer a stroke.  http://www.strokeassociation.org
